I've had my studio at theArtWorks in Wilmington, NC now for about a year and a half. I don't get to spend as much time there as I would like because I am still working full-time. However, the time I am there I truly cherish...it is my happy place, my safe space, my creative hideaway. And the most valuable thing about it is that it has provided very special connections to a tribe of like minds...other creatives, other artists and thinkers, people who aren't afraid to be themselves--to be vulnerable--and to share their unique qualities with the world. It is through these connections that I have made new friends and new business acquaintances.

The recently published children's book "Kitty Klaws" and the forthcoming series of Bible Kitties books by Dr. Richard Mynatt came about through this very network. I've had the pleasure of illustrating this book and the ones that are in the works because of a friend of a friend of a friend...isn't it just wonderful how the world works?
